NICOR Lighting previews LSA Architectural line

NICOR displayed a prototype/ sample of a product that will launch this fall. LSA Architectural LED Direct/ Indirect Linear is a stylish 6-foot fixture designed for individual units or continuous runs in commercial and architectural interiors.

Delivering more than 142 lumens per watt, LSA provides 90 percent direct and 10 percent indirect lighting and has an integrated driver to achieve a full range of dimming from 0-10 volts, enabling the flexibility to create the ideal ambience for a variety of environments and applications.

The LSA’s highly-reflective optical chamber and diffused polycarbonate lens provide wide, direct light distribution while three windows in the extruded aluminum body offer uplight with a single piece diffuser for soft distribution. Using a spring steel mounting bracket, installation is easy with three different mountings available—surface, pendant and aircraft cable. The fixture operates at a maximum ambient temperature of 50 degrees Celsius. LSA will be available in integral or remote driver configurations.

The first and only wireless, network-capable linear lamp retrofit with a simple plug-and-play installation reduces energy, effort and costs while providing intelligent control. The expanded Philips InstantFit platform is built on the ZigBee 3.0 standard based protocol for easy integration of TLEDs with a wide variety of control devices and systems. SATCO offers new line if LED flat panels and troffer fixtures

SATCO introduced a new line of commercial LED flat panel and troffer fixtures under its Nuvo Lighting brand. These are high-efficiency fixtures that deliver consistent, even light and are maintenance-free—no bulb to change. They represent a marked reduction in efficiency and maintenance costs over the standard linear fluorescent fixture types they are designed to replace.

The line consists of the most popular types including 37-watt 1-foot-by-4-foot, 37-watt 2-foot-by-4-foot and 48-watt 2-foot-by-4-foot flat panel sizes and 2-foot-by-2-foot 32-watt and 2-foot-by-4-foot troffer sizes at 40 watts and 65 watts. All are >90 CRI and available in 3500K, 4000K and 5000K options. They are 100-277V, 0-10V dimming, are certified for damp locations and are DLC 4.0 certified.

The ultra-slim, edge-lit flat panel models can be suspended or dropped into a T-bar grid, while the troffer is engineered for T-bar grids. Both the flat panel and troffer designs deliver smooth, even light distribution. All models will last 50,000 hours and carry a five-year warranty.

Sensor options from Universal Lighting Technologies

Universal Lighting Technologies, a member of the Panasonic family of companies, introduced Bluetooth wireless options, which allow fixtures to be conveniently used in a variety of applications such as parking garage, warehouse and mid and high bay applications.

Occupants can have control using Bluetooth connectivity and communicate with 0-10V LED drivers, without a need for power packs or specific drivers. The Bluetooth options can easily integrate into fixtures through a half-inch knock-out, eliminating the need for additional wiring.

What to expect next year

LightFair International will produce its 2018 trade show and conference in Chicago in a strategic move designed to accommodate its continuing growth, according to Jeffrey L. Portman Sr., vice chairman, president and chief operating officer of LightFair’s managing partner AmericasMart Atlanta.

The May 6-10, 2018 event will mark LightFair’s first Chicago staging since 1995 and will afford the global lighting design community the extensive accessibility, convenience and service benefits present in the city and in the vast facilities of McCormick Place, which offers 2.6 million square feet of exhibition space and ranks as the largest U.S. convention center.

“We expect Chicago and McCormick Place to help deliver a LightFair experience of extraordinary relevance and resonance,” Portman said. “The spectacular scope of LightFair exhibits, together with its extensive conference programming, demand an environment of the scale, which McCormick Place offers—one that our customers will embrace and enjoy,” Portman added.
