Power-Flo Acquires Assets of Crescent’s Bronx Branch

Crescent Electric Supply Co. in East Dubuque, Illinois has signed an agreement to sell the assets of its Bronx, New York branch to Long Island Electrical Distributing, a Power-Flo Technologies company and fellow IMARK member. The transaction was scheduled to close on Aug. 30.

“This decision was made to strengthen the business and provide continuity for our employee base and customers in the market,” Crescent Electric Supply Company’s President and CEO Marty Burbridge said. “Power-Flo Technologies is well-positioned to give our employees and customers opportunities to grow and thrive.”

UCOR Honors Customer Service Electric Supply

Customer Service Electric Supply in Knoxville, Tennessee received UCOR’s 2019 Woman-Owned Small Business of the Year award.

The company is proud of the work that it took to achieve the award as it reflects the hard work and dedication of its employees’ commitment toward meeting and exceeding the needs of customers.

UCOR partners with AECOM, Jacobs and RSI EnTech LLC to work at K-25 and Y-12 sites, which are undergoing clean up as they were used for the Manhattan Project for the WWII atomic bomb effort. UCOR is helping to deconstruct the sites to make way for the Uranium Processing Facility (UPF). The UPF is the largest funded government project in history and will take bomb grade uranium and process it into manageable storage packaging. All of the nuclear arms treaty material is being stored on site for processing.

Ideal Hosts 25th Annual Golf Tournament

Ideal Electrical Supply Corp. hosted The Ideal Companies Scholarship Fund Annual Golf Tournament and awarded $25,000 in scholarships to five deserving local high school seniors

More than 100 golfers and volunteers attended the tournament on June 17 at the Belle Haven Country Club in Alexandria, Virginia. The funds raised through the tournament provide college scholarships to less fortunate students. Since its inception, the fund has provided more than $400,000 in scholarships to deserving youths.

At the tournament, Belle Haven welcomed representatives from PEPCO, BGE, Burndy, Ulliman Schutte, Washington Gas, City First Bank, Delmarva Power, CPP Construction and many other businesses to enjoy a “day on the greens.” The weather was beautiful and the event was fun-filled and included a silent auction. The proceeds from the auction items (professional sporting tickets, fine dining, original artwork and sports artifacts) also benefit the Ideal Companies Scholarship Fund.

IDEAL’s 26th annual golf tournament and scholarship fundraiser will take place in early June 2020.

Madison Electric Employee Celebrates 60 Years of Service

Bruce Pickard works at the Madison Electric Co. branch location in Novi, Michigan. At 78 years old, he has no plans on retiring any time soon. The company planned a celebration for his 60th anniversary of working at Madison Electric.

Madison Electric Co. is a local, family-owned electrical distributor that celebrated its 105th year in business in Metro Detroit this past April. While the distributor is extremely proud of its long history, it knows it is because of loyal customers and employees that have endured.

A surprise celebration for Pickard took place at Madison Electric Co. in Novi on July 10.

Parrish-Hare Announces Key Personnel Changes

Parrish-Hare Electrical Supply in Irving, Texas hired Ron Brown as a conceptual engineer and promoted Greg Johnson to fill the role of general manager for all Parrish-Hare locations, Power-House and PHe-Services.

Brown has more than 40 years in the electrical industry. His background includes design, installation and conceptual pricing from his time in the contracting side of the business.

Johnson has been with Parrish-Hare for seven years. With more than 37 years in the electrical industry, he has held many different positions within the electrical distribution channel, the manufacturers’ rep industry and client relations.

Summit Electric Supply Announces Key Personnel Changes

Summit Electric Supply in Albuquerque, New Mexico hired Brent Craven as chief financial officer and Mike Richardson as vice president of supplier collaboration.

Craven will be responsible for leading the company’s finance and credit teams and driving innovation in Summit’s financial infrastructure. He will be based out of the company’s Houston, Texas facility and will report to chairman and CEO Vic Jury Jr.

Craven recently served as vice president of finance and accounting and chief financial officer for Aggreko LLC, a division of Aggreko PLC, which is a publicly held temporary power generation firm. He has extensive experience in all aspects of financial management including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, procurement, risk assessment, international finance and mergers and acquisitions.

Richardson has an MBA in operations management science and a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of North Texas. He also served as a sergeant in the U.S. Army.

Warshauer Adds Epicor Specialist to IT Team

santiago.jpgWarshauer Electric Supply in Tinton Falls, New Jersey hired Santos Santiago as its Epicor specialist, a newly-created position. Santos will join Bill Slowey on the information technology team.

Santiago’s primary focus will include, but not be limited to, everything pertaining to Epicor Eclipse. He joins the company with a wealth of knowledge of and experience with Epicor Eclipse. He recently held a similar role with Halco Lighting Technologies based in Atlanta, Georgia. Prior to that, he was the senior consultant, Epicor Eclipse, for Hughes Supply, which was eventually acquired by Home Depot and became Home Depot Supply.

Santiago will be based out of the company’s Tinton Falls location.

Winsupply Names Vice President, Creates Acquisitions Group

Previously director of sourcing services, Roush will lead Winsupply Sourcing Services in fulfilling its mission of providing supply chain expertise in support of the growth and prosperity of Winsupply’s nearly 600 locations.

Roush’s areas of responsibility include the operation of Winsupply’s five distribution centers, central accounting and pricing, vendor incentive program administration, customer care and regional distribution center purchasing. Prior to joining Winsupply in 2013, he held a variety of positions in both the public and private sector including eight years in management with Ferrellgas, a national propane retailer.

In other Winsupply news, the company created Winsupply Acquisitions Group, to be led by Monte Salsman as president. Salsman was previously president of the Winsupply Local Company Group. The Winsupply Board of Directors decided to create this new company given the changing landscape of the wholesale distribution industry and the desire for Winsupply to broaden the reach of its long-held philosophy of providing hardworking entrepreneurs the opportunity for business ownership.

The board also announced the promotion of Rob Ferguson as president of the Winsupply Local Company Group to fill Salsman’s former role. Ferguson was previously vice president of operations. He will also be added to the Winsupply Inc. Board of Directors.
