More than 135 senior executives from IMARK Canada member distributors and IMARK Canada suppliers attended the IMARK Canada annual meeting, which was held Sept. 11-13 at Hilton Fallsview in Niagara Falls, Ontario.
“We are very pleased with the growth of our membership and we were thrilled with the meeting, in terms of both the supplier support and member engagement,” said Jim Taggart, president of IMARK Canada. “We have a very bright future in Canada.”
The IMARK Canada headquarters team provided an update on the current organization, as well as the plans for growth in 2020 and beyond. “IMARK Canada members are doing a great job growing their purchases from our IMARK Canada supplier partners,” said Jerry Knight, IMARK vice president of supplier relations.
More than 1,000 private one-on-one member and supplier executive sessions were conducted during the meeting.
Additionally, Swati Vora-Patel, director of research and communications of Electro Fed Canada, presented a summary of the EFC report concerning, “The Electrification of the Canadian Market” to all attendees.
At a ceremony on Sept. 12, Taggart announced the winners of the following awards for superior performance by IMARK Canada members and suppliers.
Aztec Electrical Supply, Concord, Ontario, earned the 2019 Member of the Year award based on objective criteria related to its active participation and superior purchase growth with IMARK Canada suppliers in 2019.
Southwire Canada, Mississauga, Ontario, earned the 2019 Supplier of the Year Award based on objective criteria related to its active participation and superior sales growth with IMARK Canada members.
The 2019 Purchasing Power award was presented to Alliance Electrical Supply, Brampton, Ontario.
Kidde Canada, Vaughan, Ontario, earned the 2019 Award for Superior Sales Growth and Performance.

VISCOR, ILSCO CANADA, LITELING, NSI INDUSTRIES TAKE TOP HONORS AT 2019 IMARK CANADA PRODUCT STAMPEDE
During the recently held IMARK Canada 2019 meeting in Niagara Falls, executives from 14 of the leading manufacturers in the Canadian electrical and lighting industry participated in the IMARK Canada Product Stampede on Sept. 13.
Select manufacturer executives had precisely five minutes to present a key product with superior growth potential to the members of IMARK Canada. Distributor member executives then rated each supplier based on the quality of the presentation and the perceived sales potential of the product being demonstrated.
“All of the supplier presenters did an excellent job and our members picked up a lot of valuable information in a very short amount of time,” said Steve Ruane, IMARK Canada vice president of marketing.
IMARK Canada is pleased to announce the winners of the 2019 Product Stampede:
- First Place: Viscor presents Lori Bagazzoli, Pierre Legare and Ron Stevens who discussed the company's line of retrofit lighting solutions.
- Second Place: ILSCO Canada features Carl Ura and the new Task master line of electrician scissors.
- Thrid Place (tie): Liteline Corp. and the Forum Edge product presented by Steve McMullen.
- Third Place (tie): NSi Industries Canada and the Warrior Wrap line on electrical tapes presented by Jason Obetz, Janet Caruso and Jorge Roman.
