Quazite Offers High-Quality Products,
Excellent Lead Times

There are a variety of box styles in order to meet the most specialized enclosure needs. Each style offers specific strengths and assets for diverse functionality.

Are you an IMARK Electrical member considering carrying Quazite boxes?

The Quazite brand manufactures a variety of enclosures for the electric utility, communications, commercial and industrial and water markets to provide safe, durable and cost-effective housing for utility systems equipment.

Quazite enclosures range in size from the size of a shoebox to office size. They are made of polymer concrete, which is made from select-grade aggregates in combination with a polymer resin system. When combined through a process of mixing, molding and curing, an extremely powerful cross-linked bond is formed. Precast polymer concrete is reinforced with fiberglass to give it additional strength and rigidity.

There are a variety of box styles in order to meet the most specialized enclosure needs. Each style offers specific strengths and assets for diverse functionality:

  • PG enclosures have straight sides that allow for easy adjustment of the box should the grade level change. Used for a variety of purposes, such as a splice box, pull box, equipment enclosure or for any application requiring easy access to an underground service, PG boxes are stackable for increased depth and rated up to ANSCI/SCTE Tier 22

  • PC enclosures also have straight sides that allow for easy adjustment of the box should the grade level change. All PC boxes are stackable and are available with gasketing, and are rated up to Tier 15

  • PX enclosures are excellent for service box assemblies and offer flared design to prevent frost heave. PX boxes are also nestable for compact storage.

  • PT enclosures have a flared design that prevents frost heave. Their covers are interchangeable with many precast concrete parts. PT boxes are also nestable for compact storage.

  • PD enclosures feature a 1-degree flare for maximum strength. Flared design optimizes internal volume and minimizes frost heave.

Established in 1982, the Quazite brand was acquired by Hubbell Power Systems Inc. in 2006.

"We're leaders in the polymer concrete market and have been around since the very beginning," said Rob Fox, market manager, C&I, Hubbell Enclosures & Drains Business Unit, Hubbell Lenoir City Inc. "We took a big stake in the development of polymer concrete and further enhanced the process of making polymer concrete. We have some of the best methodologies and the performance of our product is unsurpassed. We use the highest-grade quality raw materials, which includes the aggregate and the fiberglass that go into our products."

The brand attributes its success to two things. “We provide a very high-quality product and excellent lead times to get product into the hands of our customers as quickly as possible,” Fox said.

The Quazite brand always strives to be in a position where it can anticipate customers’ needs, develop products to meet those needs and offer a distribution network that stocks and ships products efficiently.

“If you have a customer buying 300 boxes for a project and need them quickly, we can fill an order like that,” he said, adding that the brand aims to simplify business for distributors as much as possible.

The most successful Quazite distributors are those who have knowledgeable inside and outside salespeople to sell the products. Those with a mobile product display also do very well. “Distributors who have the means with trailers and pickup trucks to haul the products to customers to see and feel are successful,” Fox said.

To provide best-in-class service and support to its electrical distributor partners and their customers,Quazite listens to the ever-changing needs of the marketplace and stays on the cutting-edge of new technology that can improve product design.

“We keep our commitment to our partnerships and work with distributors as product design changes take place,” Fox said. “We do what we say we’re going to do, and we are very proud of our delivery times and promised delivery times. When we give a date, we hold ourselves accountable to get the products to customers by that date and we have a stringent system of measuring ourselves.”

Quazite representatives will work directly with IMARK members considering buying the Quazite product line. “Some stock some products and some don’t know what to stock,” Fox said. “Needs vary regionally. We have been around and know what products your customers need.

We are here to listen, learn and also to share what we’ve learned about the products needed and to get them the products quickly.”
