Crescent Electric Acquires National Electric Supply

Crescent Electric Supply Co. in East Dubuque, Illinois has purchased Albuquerque, New Mexico-based National Electric Supply Co. Inc. Founded in 1976, National has grown to become a recognized market leader in Albuquerque and Santa Fe, New Mexico. With approximately 40 employees, National Electric serves contractor, industrial and government customers from their two stocking locations.

National Electric will continue to operate from its current Albuquerque, New Mexico headquarters and customer and supplier contacts will remain the same.

DSG Hires New COO and CFO

Dakota Supply Group (DSG) in Fargo, North Dakota has added Mike Meiresonne as its chief operating officer (COO) and Brent Rudser as its chief financial officer (CFO). Meiresonne will lead DSG’s corporate team and oversee all of the company’s ongoing business operations. He will be based out of DSG’s Plymouth, Minnesota office and will be a part of DSG’s executive team. Before joining DSG, Meiresonne served as COO of First Supply, where he also held the roles of general manager and director of sales and marketing. Prior to that, he spent 11 years at Ferguson Enterprises, progressing from outside sales to regional sales management.

Rudser will lead DSG’s financial teams and oversee all of the company’s financial strategy development. He will be based out of DSG’s office in Plymouth, Minnesota and will be part of DSG’s executive team.

Before joining DSG, Rudser served as CFO of Equus Holdings. Prior to that, he spent 25 years in progressively senior roles with Amazon and SuperValu.

Gross Electric President Joins ALA Board

Laurie Gross, president of Gross Electric, has been appointed to the American Lighting Association (ALA) Board of Governors. The appointment has a threeyear term that begins in January 2019. The ALA is a national trade association representing the residential lighting industry.

It works to protect and advance the industry, while promoting the sale and proper application of quality lighting products.

The ALA Board of Governors is made up of 12 members, four manufacturers, four sales representatives and four showroom representatives. The objective of the board is to provide direction to the association by establishing policy and approving programs and the annual budget. The group conducts strategic planning retreats to ensure the association’s priorities and objectives remain clear. The board also works to ensure that the ALA is meeting and addressing industry and member needs.

“I have been an active member with ALA for more than 40 years,” said Gross. “I am honored and excited to join the Board of Governors.”

In other company news, Gross Electric recently purchased the remaining inventory from Top of the Lamp, a lighting showroom in Ann Arbor, Michigan, which has closed. “We are happy that we were able to provide jobs for some of their employees,” said Gross.

Summit Names Vice President of Strategic Sales

Dave Armstrong has been promoted to vice president of strategic sales for Summit Electric Supply. Armstrong joined Summit in 2017 as the director of strategic accounts and quickly began growing Summit’s business in the industrial sector. In his new role, Armstrong will also assume responsibility for Summit’s international sales, export and EP&C divisions. He will be based out of the company’s Houston service center and report to Summit President Kevin Powell. With more than 25 years of experience in the electrical industry, Armstrong has a proven track record in successfully restructuring operations and sales while engaging cross-functional teams to capitalize on sales and market growth opportunities. He holds a bachelor of science in business administration from the University of Oklahoma.

Womack Holds Annual Food For Families Drive

Womack Electric Supply’s community outreach programs are specifically designed to allow the company to work as an active partner with its customers to make a positive impact on the local communities. Womack’s Food for Families drive is held annually during the month of July. Each Womack Electric Supply branch serves as a drop off location for non-perishable food donations. This year, Womack collected 5,930 canned goods. All donations are distributed to local food pantries in the communities where they were donated.
