Fred Segal, formerly of Electrical Supplies Inc. in Miami, Florida, recently passed away at the age of 89. Segal was one of the pivotal figures in the formation and growth of what is now IMARK Group. “Fred’s board chairmanship of TIED marked a transition to the more inclusive and member-participatory structure that characterizes the IMARK Group of today,” said former IMARK CEO Steve Cunningham. “He served with great foresight and distinction. On a personal note, I have nothing but the fondest memories of our times spent with Fred and Harriet.”

Born in Detroit, Michigan, Segal attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and graduated with a degree in electrical engineering. After college, he married the love of his life, Harriet Weisberg. Soon after getting married, he joined the Navy, became a lieutenant and assisted in the naval guided missile systems program. After the Navy, he established and expanded two successful electrical distributors, Allied Electrical Supplies in 1956 and current IMARK member Electrical Supplies Inc. in 1976.

He was blessed with an incredible mind for mathematics, facts and trivia. He loved to play golf and especially enjoyed his fantasy baseball league.

Segal and his wife were married for 67 years, raised four children and were blessed with nine grandchildren. They traveled the world and enjoyed a wonderful life together. May his memory be a blessing.
